We are now 83 miles from Braunston.

Not only did we see this Canada goose sitting on its nest but we have also spotted several coots on nests.

Perhaps spring has arrived? Answers on a postcard.

Our first lock today was Copper Mill, I assume that this building along the by-wash was part of the mill, it is now des. res'.
Nicholson's guide warns of a strong cross current below the lock,

they have got that right, a true white water experience, it was open throttle and hope for the best.

They certainly have some individual boats on the southern end of the G.U.

Was the coot doing a B.S.C. check? If you can't spot him he's directly below the axle of the paddle wheel.

Look how far we have got from Braunston! This mile marker is alongside Cowley lock and we are moored just below it, the lock that is, not the mile marker.
Tomorrow we follow Ducks 2 Water's example and head for Paddington.

Watch this space...........

Hi Jill & Graham, hopefully a spot still available, their are opportunities too at moment. It has been lovely here, great spot to explore all of London ( no expensive hotel costs either ) - bargain. Hopefully we shall still be here, before our 7 days are up, pop over if you get the chance, I think last time we saw you was on the Shroppie. Will you be off at 6am ???!!!! enjoy the run in Jacquie
