Just a lazy day.

What a glorious couple of days we've had. Far too hot to move so we've just reveled in the sunshine. Yesterday I managed to complete the whipping on the centre section of the rod whilst quietly melting, sitting on the bank. The butt section is now finished and varnished. Only the top joint remains to be started and that is the real challenge.
Today, feeling guilty about our leisured lifestyle of late, we wandered off down the towpath.
At Seend Park Swing Bridge, possibly the narrowest on the K&A,

the Bowerhills Residents Action Group have set up a very attractive picnic area,

it's great what a bit of civic pride can do.

Up on the ridge the houses of Seend Cleeve shimmered in the unaccustomed heat and we strolled up the bridle path

to the top of the village.

They have one of the iconic red telephone boxes, operative but looking sadly shabby and unloved in these days of mobile 'phones.
Tomorrrow we move on, in search of diesel and a pump out.

Watch this space.........
