A less aggressive dragonfly.

This is not yesterday's culprit.

It was just the most obliging dragonfly I have come across

and it made no attempt at causing g.b.h. with intent.

It just sat and let me get on with it.
My indispensable friend, the good old 1984 Readers Digest Field Guide, identifies it as either a common or a ruddy sympetrum. Where would I be without the set of six that we purchased in 1984 to help the children discover the wonders of the natural world? Of course they never looked at them but at last they are coming in useful, the books that is, not the children.
Having had a couple of relaxing days here, so tomorrow we will move on.
