An apology.

After all the eager expectations of onward movement following the thaw we find that due to unavoidable family business we are having to put Armadillo into Trinity Marina for a couple of weeks and trek off to Morden, Weymouth and Plymouth so I'm afraid there will be no news for the blog for a while.
So we apologise for the lack of news, normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

A Thaw?

Hurrah! The boat is floating free, the sun is shining and the ice is thawing; BW are bringing a dredger through tomorrow, we will be free!!! It will be off to Stoke Golding for diesel and gas and let's hope for no more freezes.
We have achieved fame at last, Canal Boat has published one of our pictures of the emu, didn't someone say everybody would get fifteen minutes of fame? This looks like ours.

The Freeze Continues.

Now on first name terms with the butcher, the girls in the Co-op treat us as locals and the barmaid in the Red Lion knows what we drink; time for a move, apart from two inches of ice. 10 bags of coal left and 2/3 of a tank of diesel, I think survival is likely. UK Masters snooker on the telly so Jill is happy, glued to the set. Looks like the dog and I will be walking on our own this afternoon.
Sorry there isn't much to put on the blog but sitting here is not overly exciting. Roll on the thaw!

Market Bosworth(Still).

Still at M.B. After snow last night we now have a bright sunny day but no sign of any thaw. At least the water point is still thawing everyday and we can top up. There are worse places to be stuck; now I like Braunston but two weeks there last winter were enough, we've been here three weeks already and we still like the place!
Well it just took over half an hour to download the picture, got bored with waiting and took the dog out for a walk and it finished loading while I was out! At least it gives you an idea of what it's like here. Picture especially for daughter Natalie, as commanded.
