Early coltsfoot beside the towpath, the flowers show before the leaves,
unlike the primroses which get it the right way round.
Views from the bridge at Llangollen. As the season hasn't started yet there were no trains running on the steam railway. With the number of boats up here during the season I don't think we'll bother coming up then.
We left Llangollen yesterday morning and with the current behind us we were down to Trevor and over Pontcysyllte in quick time, that aqueduct does nothing for my equanimity. The next feature is more manageable,
Froncysllte lift bridge, there's Jill merrily twirling her windlass while I stood guard on the boat.
There are some odd cross bred ducks about, wouldn't like to guess the ancestry of the back pair here.
This odd chap sits at the end of a garden, the British sense of humour.
We carried on down to St. Martins and are spending the weekend here, six nations tomorrow, the postponed Ireland v. France, and weather described by the Met. Office as unsettled, that means they don't have a clue what is going to happen.
Watch this space.............
